Fischer, Johann Conrad the Elder

4. May 1721 – 19. April 1811

A Schaffhausen coppersmith, a well-known manufacturer of fire extinguishers.

When still a young man, Johann Conrad Fischer travelled extensively in France, Germany, Prussia, Hungary, Poland, Denmark and England. He worked for five years under Andreas Schalch in the Royal Brass Foundry in Woolwich, London. Johann Conrad Fischer the Elder is the father of Johann Conrad Fischer (1773–1854).
