Jetzler, Christoph
20. December 1734 – 5. September 1791
Professor of Mathematics and Physics at the Collegium Humanitatis in Schaffhausen.
Christoph Jetzler studied under Leonard Euler in Berlin from 1763 to 1765 and later continued his studies in Paris and London. In addition to his post at the Collegium Humanitatis, Jetzler was also the municipal architect and town forester in Schaffhausen.
According to Johann Conrad Fischer, Jetzler was regarded as a friend and kindred spirit of Leonhard Euler. Jetzler and Melchior Hurter gave instruction in various areas of mathematics without demanding a fee, and Fischer studied trigonometry and algebra with them.
