Palais Royal

Spot, building, farm, …

Paris, France

A mansion in the centre of Paris and the former residence of the Duc d’Orléans, later Louis Philippe I.

When Johann Conrad Fischer was in Paris, the building housed various attractions such as theatres, gaming rooms, shops and galleries. In 1825, the writer Étienne-Léon de Lamothe-Langon therefore coined the phrase “Paris est la capitale de la France, le Palais-Royal est la capitale de Paris”.
