Georg Fischer Fittings GmbH

founded 1833

: Berthold Fischer – Eisenguss und Stahlwerkfabrik :: Feinstahlwerke Traisen Leobersdorf AG (Skoda-Wetler Konzern) :: Stahl- und Temperguss AG (Alpine Montangesellschaft) :: Voest-Alpine Stahl Traisen :: Fittings-Traisen GmbH

The Fischer manufactory in Traisen (Austria). The company was developed and managed by Johann Conrad Fischer’s youngest son Berthold Fischer.

Berthold had no children and sold the firm at the age of 65 to the descendants of his brother Georg Fischer I. The company remained in the family for another two decades and was sold in 1894. In 1990, Georg Fischer AG entered a joint venture with Voest Alpine and acquired 51% of the company, which still operated in the metal industry. The original Fischer factory in Traisen had thus become part of the Georg Fischer Group again after some one hundred years.
