Vessel of the Danaïds

other/miscellaneous

A perforated vessel or sieve in Greek myth, in which the Danaïds, the daughters of King Danaus, are condemned to carry water as a punishment.

The myth, like the myth of Sisyphus, denotes a futile and pointless task.
